The governing body of the Town of Red Cross is structured such to have a mayor and four council members. Town council members are elected on a nonpartisan basis.
Terms are staggered for the council members and mayor. In one election, the mayor and two council members are elected and then at the next election, two of the other council members are elected. This guarantees that the council will have two experienced members at all time.
The mayor presides over the town meetings. He only votes in the event of a tie.
The Town of Red Cross holds their meetings monthly on the second Monday of each month at 7pm in the Red Cross Town Hall.
